Hi, I’m Gladys —
A teacher, mother of six, and lifelong advocate for education and inclusion. Raised in Peru, I was deeply influenced by my parents: her father, Max Aragon, who founded " Unión de Ciegos de la Región Inka", a school for the blind, and her mother, Zalmira Olivos, whose quiet strength and generosity helped name and shape the mission long before it formally existed.
I followed in their footsteps, becoming an educator and eventually a Spanish teacher, where I found passion in helping students grow in language, confidence, and cross-cultural connection.
In 2008, I founded Rompiendo Barreras as a way to carry forward my family’s legacy. After years devoted to raising my children, I returned to this mission with renewed purpose. For me, this work isn’t just professional—it’s personal. Rompiendo Barreras is the heart of a lifelong calling: to break down barriers and uplift others through education and human connection.
Hi, I’m James —
A passionate traveler, lifelong learner, and someone who’s always been driven by a desire to help others and make a meaningful impact.
Over the past 26 years, I’ve worn a few different hats. For a decade, I owned and operated a successful retail business, learning the ins and outs of customer service, entrepreneurship, and resilience. After that, I spent 16 amazing years managing an outdoor tour company, where I had the privilege of connecting people to nature and adventure, while creating unforgettable experiences.
But beyond business and adventure, I discovered something even more fulfilling: helping people in ways that go beyond a product or a service. Whether it’s guiding someone on a transformative journey, lending a listening ear, or offering support during a life change — I’ve found that my true calling is empowering others and being part of their personal growth.
Travel has shaped how I see the world — it’s taught me empathy, adaptability, and the beauty of diverse human stories. Those lessons fuel everything I do today.
My mission is simple: to help people live better, feel better, and know they’re not alone.
Thank You!
